2026 Lincoln Corsair
2024 Acura ZDX

Safety

The Corsair offers optional Post Collision Braking, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The ZDX doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

The Corsair’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The ZDX doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Corsair and the ZDX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available all wheel drive and around view monitors.

Warranty

Lincoln’s powertrain warranty covers the Corsair 2 years and 20,000 miles longer than Acura covers the ZDX. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the ZDX ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.

There are over 74 percent more Lincoln dealers than there are Acura dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Corsair’s warranty.

Reliability

The Corsair has a standard “limp home system” to keep drivers from being stranded if most or all of the engine’s coolant is lost. The engine will run on only half of its cylinders at a time, reduce its power and light a warning lamp on the dashboard so the driver can get to a service station for repairs. The ZDX doesn’t offer a lost coolant limp home mode, so a coolant leak could strand you or seriously damage the truck’s engine.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Lincoln vehicles are more reliable than Acura With 28 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Lincoln higher than Acura.

Fuel Economy and Range

The Corsair Grand Touring’s maximum EPA estimated range on a full tank and a full charge is 404 miles, after which it can be refueled at any gas station in minutes. The ZDX’s range is only 278 to 313 miles, after which the minimum time to recharge is 42 minutes for only an 80% charge at a specially configured quick charge station not available in most areas. A full recharge using a conventional 110-volt outlet can take up to 29 hours and 24 minutes.

The Corsair Grand Touring has a standard locking fuel door with a power remote release convenient to the driver. The ZDX doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank and a locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

Brakes and Stopping

The Corsair stops much shorter than the ZDX:

Consumer Reports

Tires and Wheels

The Corsair offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the ZDX; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

Suspension and Handling

The Corsair’s drift compensation steering can automatically compensate for road conditions which would cause the vehicle to drift from side to side, helping the driver to keep the vehicle straight more easily. The ZDX doesn’t offer drift compensation steering.

The Corsair Reserve AWD handles at .83 G’s, while the ZDX A-Spec 4x4 pulls only .78 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

For better maneuverability, the Corsair’s turning circle is 2.5 feet tighter than the ZDX’s (37.1 feet vs. 39.6 feet).

Chassis

The Lincoln Corsair may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1550 to 1750 pounds less than the Acura ZDX.

The Corsair is 1 foot, 4.3 inches shorter than the ZDX, making the Corsair easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the Corsair uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The ZDX doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Corsair uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The ZDX doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

Passenger Space

The Corsair has 1.7 inches more front headroom, 1.8 inches more front legroom and 1.7 inches more rear headroom than the ZDX.

Cargo Capacity

A standard locking glovebox keeps your small valuables safer in the Corsair. The ZDX doesn’t offer locking storage for small valuables.

Ergonomics

In case you lock your keys in your vehicle, or don’t have them with you, you can let yourself in using the Corsair’s exterior PIN entry system. The ZDX doesn’t offer an exterior PIN entry system, and its OnStar can’t unlock the doors if the vehicle doesn’t have cell phone reception or the driver can’t contact the service.

To help drivers see further while navigating curves, the Corsair Reserve has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. The ZDX doesn’t offer cornering lights.

The Corsair’s standard rear view mirror and optional side view mirrors have an automatic dimming feature. These mirrors can be set to automatically darken quickly when headlights shine on them, keeping following vehicles from blinding or distracting the driver. The ZDX has an automatic rear view mirror, but its side mirrors don’t dim.

The Corsair Reserve/Grand Touring offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the ZDX.

Recommendations

The Lincoln Corsair outsold the Acura ZDX by over four to one during 2024.
